Its most notable property is its flame resistance; it can self‑extinguish at high temperatures. The fire‑resistant hydraulic fluid used in power plant electro‑hydraulic control systems takes advantage of this non‑flame‑propagating characteristic.

Product Description
Phosphate‑ester fire‑resistant hydraulic fluid is a synthetic, fire‑resistant hydraulic fluid primarily used in high‑pressure hydraulic systems for steam turbine governing systems in thermal and nuclear power plants, as well as in aerospace, metallurgy, and other industries. It effectively prevents fire hazards caused by fluid leakage. Based on triaryl phosphate esters, this fluid exhibits excellent fire‑resistance with a self‑ignition point as high as 550°C; however, it suffers from poor thermal stability, inadequate hydrolytic stability, and incompatibility with conventional sealing materials. After degradation, its acid value must be maintained within the standard limit of ≤0.01 mg KOH/g.
