Application in Power Transmission and Transformation Projects
Transmission and transformation is a critical component of the power system that enables long-distance delivery of electrical energy by adjusting voltage levels. It encompasses transmission lines and substations, with voltage classes ranging from low, medium, and high to extra-high and ultra‑high voltage. China has already commissioned commercial 1,000‑kV ultra‑high‑voltage substations, and transmission and transformation technologies are widely employed in smart grid development. Digital twin technology can be leveraged for intelligent inspection and visualized monitoring.
Ultra-high-voltage (UHV) transmission boasts advantages such as large transmission capacity, long transmission distances, and low losses, while also enabling more efficient use of transmission corridors and reducing land occupation. The power-frequency electric and magnetic fields generated by AC transmission and transformation facilities must comply with national standard limits. China has taken the lead in developing an UHV transmission technology standards system that has been successfully exported across the entire industrial chain.
